Liliw Laguna….Tsinelas festival next week!

Published by abby under Anong Balita

Anyone up for bazaar???…lots of quality slippers and shoes at very very affordable prices you will enjoy shopping at our home town in Liliw,Laguna. The latest design for the summer which you will find in the malls here can be bought there at half the price. The festival will start on April 21-29, you can watch unang hirit or magandang umaga pilipinas(not sure which network will feature the event) on April 23 for more details of the event.
I recommend stores like Socialite, Pias footwear, La chika, Shalom, Aishe footwear. When you get hungry try eating at Arabelas, they have the best dishes from pizza, pasta, steak and cakes. Some other great pasalubong include uraro, buko pie, lambanog, espasol and kesong puti.
Have a happy trip!

Thank God…..I’m alive…

Published by abby under Anong Balita

It was Holy week last week and our family decided to go to Our Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan. It was Holy Wednesday, we left Makati at 1am in the morning and was at the church in Pangasinan at 5.30 in the morning to hear mass and say our prayers. We headed straight to Baguio afterwards where we went to Burnham Park, Mountains view park, Our Lady of Lourdes grotto and SM. The weather is cold and we enjoyed our stayed in Baguio.
We are heading home the following day, Maunday Thursday when I experienced choking sensation. I thought it was my asthma again so I puffed my inhaler, when it wasn’t working I tried a different one….and another different medication. By this time I am panicking and asked the driver to look for the nearest hospital in Tarlac. I was brought to a small clinic and was given nebulization and Isoptin which didnt help either instead it gave me chest heaviness and a feeling of doomsday!
I was rushed to a bigger hospital this time thru their ambulance. The doctors there gave me lidocaine after they did an ECG. They found out that my PVC(premature ventricular contraction) are alarming. This PVC causes skip beat..but this time the skip seems to be longer as aggravated by my asthma drugs. I have never felt like this before…as if I am going to die. I stayed in the ICU for 3 hours then I was able to talk to the doctor at Tarlac, I asked his permission to transfer me at Makati Medical Center where I used to worked. So another ambulance transported me at Makati Med where I stayed for 5 days at ICU(intensive care unit) and 1 day observation in their regular room.

I guess it is a blessing that I found this out now, that my asthma medications has caused this to my heart. I am suppose to fly next week in America with my husband but the doctor wouldn’t allow us. So we change our flight again….

I am just thankful to God that I survive this. Its very reassuring that my family is with me at that time….I thank as well the support of my in-laws, relatives and friends. I cant thank the Lord enough for giving me such a CARING, LOVING AND TRULY WONDERFUL husband, though we have our shortcomings and differences, He will always be the “ONE” for me. In addition, I appreciate my cardiologist Dr. Cabrera and Dr. Aquino my pulmonologist for doing a great job taking good care of me.

I know that trials will come along the way and each one teaches us a lesson and it makes our faith and relationship with God and with our love ones stronger. I pray that God will guide us always and may He give me strength and good health to achieve my goals, dreams and aspirations.

Tagaytay day trip

Published by abby under Anong Balita

Since we got our visa, we are now relaxing and spending time with my family and going to places we havent been to.

Thursday last week, we went out with my cousins at Tiendesitas again and this time its ‘The Hitmakers” who are playing. As the name implies, this band sings most of the hit songs. We had a great time. Pictures will be posted by my hubby soon.

Today sherwin and I went to Tagaytay. We left at 7.30 am and was home at around 5pm. Our first stop is “pink sisters”, we prayed first and written our intentions so that the sisters will pray for our intentions as well. I did the station of the cross as well as an offertory for the Holy Week. After an hour, we had breakfast at Jollibee then went at the Picnic Groove to enjoy the view of the smallest volcano in the world which is Taal. It was almost lunch time when we headed to the Residence Inn zoo, there we took pictures together with tiger cubs. Thats the closest we came upon a tiger though this one is young just three months old. There are other animals that children and the young a heart will truly appreciate such as different birds, fish, ostrich, bear, monkeys, etc.

We enjoyed our lunch at Sonya’s secret Garden. The buffet cost 615 pesos that includes bread, fresh salad, pasta and dessert. For the nature lovers, you can surely appreciate the place since the flowers and plants are soothing to the sight. Perhaps next time we will spend a night there for 2500 pesos which include dinner and breakfast. I’m glad my husband enjoyed the food and the place because I am the one who really wanted to go there. Everything is worth it, though the place is hard to find and a bit expensive. Check out their site to appreciate it more. http://www.sonyasgarden.com/

We decided to went home at around 3pm to avoid the rush hour going back to Manila. On our way, we bought some pasalubong like pineapple, mushroom burger and peanut brittle.

What a day! Driving is tiring but nevertheless the trip went very well and we enjoyed it. Time to get some sleep…we are heading to Pangasinan and Baguio on Wednesday……Lucban,Quezon on Friday and Batanggas on Saturday. Whooh what a hectic week this will be.
